Safety, Compliance & Service Commitment

Premium Delivery. FAST.

At Mine Direct, we understand that unplanned downtime costs money. When critical parts or urgent freight are required on site, delivery speed must be matched by safety, compliance, and reliability.

Mine Direct provides time-critical freight solutions across mining and industrial regions, delivering urgent parts, equipment, and operational freight quickly and safely. Our flexible fleet and trained drivers allow us to respond immediately, whether transporting small urgent components or larger freight requiring heavy vehicle transport.

Every delivery is supported by professional service standards, operational transparency, and strict compliance with transport and mine-site safety requirements.

Our Service Commitment

Mine Direct is committed to delivering a premium service experience through:

• Operating with integrity and respect across all client and site operations
• Providing reliable and rapid response freight solutions
• Consistently exceeding client delivery expectations
• Finding practical and innovative solutions to urgent freight challenges
• Supporting responsible environmental and community practices
• Delivering freight safely without compromising compliance standards

Our drivers are professional, uniformed, and trained to operate safely within mine-site and industrial environments, ensuring deliveries occur efficiently while meeting site requirements.

Technology, Tracking & Reporting

Mine Direct utilises modern vehicle tracking and reporting technologies to provide visibility and accountability throughout every delivery.

Clients are provided with operational transparency through systems that may include:

• Real-time vehicle location tracking
• ETA notifications and delivery updates
• GPS tracking records for route verification
• Contactless delivery capability when required
• Freight labelling and barcode scanning integration
• Photo Proof of Delivery (POD) records
• DIFOT (Delivery In Full On Time) reporting
• Monitoring of delivery performance KPIs
• Route and delivery audit reporting
• Delivery cost analysis by location or project where required

These systems can be tailored to support site compliance requirements and procurement reporting standards.

Chain of Responsibility (CoR)

Mine Direct operates in accordance with Chain of Responsibility legislation, recognising that safety obligations extend beyond the driver to all parties involved in freight movement.

Operational planning ensures vehicles operate within load limits, freight is correctly restrained, and delivery schedules do not pressure drivers to exceed safe driving hours or speed limits.

Personnel responsible for scheduling, loading, dispatch, and freight coordination are trained to identify risks and prevent unsafe practices across the supply chain, ensuring compliance obligations are met at every stage of delivery.

Safe Operating Procedures

Mine Direct maintains documented Safe Operating Procedures covering all aspects of freight transport operations.

These include procedures for:

• Freight handling and load restraint
• Vehicle operation and site access
• Working safely around forklifts and loading equipment
• Manual handling practices
• Use of personal protective equipment
• Emergency response and incident management
• Compliance with Chain of Responsibility obligations

Safe Operating Procedures are incorporated into driver induction and training programs and are regularly reviewed to ensure alignment with current regulatory and client requirements.

Driver Fatigue Management

Fatigue management is critical in long-distance freight operations servicing remote mine sites and industrial regions.

Mine Direct schedules deliveries to comply with national heavy vehicle fatigue management requirements, ensuring drivers receive appropriate rest opportunities and are not scheduled beyond safe working limits.

Drivers are required to:

• Obtain adequate sleep prior to commencing shifts
• Take mandatory rest breaks during long-distance operations
• Monitor work hours to remain within allowable fatigue limits
• Notify operations staff when fatigue risks arise

Drivers receive training to recognise fatigue symptoms such as slowed reactions, impaired concentration, heavy eyes, and reduced awareness. Drivers are authorised to cease driving if fatigue is present without operational penalty.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Mine Direct drivers carry and utilise required PPE when entering mine and industrial sites.

Standard PPE includes:

• High-visibility clothing
• Steel-cap safety footwear
• Hard hats or helmets
• Gloves and eye protection
• Hearing protection where required

Additional PPE is utilised where client or site-specific requirements apply. Compliance is monitored to ensure drivers meet operational safety expectations at all times while on site.

Acknowledgement of Country

Mine Direct acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we operate and pays respect to Elders past, present, and emerging.

We recognise the cultural significance of these lands and aim to operate respectfully and responsibly within the communities in which mining and industrial activities occur.

Regular Audits & Compliance Reviews

Mine Direct conducts ongoing audits and operational reviews to ensure compliance with transport and workplace safety requirements.

Audit and inspection programs include:

• Vehicle condition and maintenance inspections
• PPE compliance checks
• Load restraint inspections
• Driver licensing and documentation verification
• Operational compliance reviews

Scheduled audits and spot inspections ensure vehicles and drivers remain compliant with safety and legislative requirements. Audit outcomes are used to improve procedures, training, and operational performance.

Drug & Alcohol Policy

Mine Direct maintains a strict zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy to ensure safe operations across all client sites.

Drivers must be fit for duty at all times and comply with both company and client site drug and alcohol testing requirements.

Drivers operating heavy vehicles must maintain zero blood alcohol concentration while working. Where substance dependency concerns arise, Mine Direct encourages appropriate treatment while maintaining operational safety obligations.

Breaches of this policy may result in removal from duties or termination of engagement.

Pre-Start Vehicle Safety Checks

Vehicles undergo routine inspections prior to entering service to ensure operational safety.

Pre-start inspections include checks of:

• Tyres and wheels
• Brake and steering operation
• Lights and indicators
• Windscreen, mirrors and visibility
• Engine and fluid levels
• Load restraint equipment
• Safety and warning devices

Drivers must also confirm they are legally licensed and fit for work before commencing duties. Any faults identified are reported and rectified before the vehicle is dispatched.

Ethical Supply & Modern Slavery Policy

Mine Direct complies with the requirements of the Australian Modern Slavery Act 2018 and maintains a strict zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human exploitation within our operations and supply chain.

Modern slavery includes serious forms of exploitation such as:

• Human trafficking
• Slavery and servitude
• Forced or compulsory labour
• Debt bondage
• Forced marriage
• Deceptive recruitment practices
• Child labour
• Exploitative working conditions

While Mine Direct operates solely within Australia providing freight and logistics services, we recognise risks may still exist within broader supply chains linked to transport operations, including vehicle procurement, equipment supply, maintenance services, and subcontracted work.

To minimise risk, Mine Direct:

• Engages suppliers expected to comply with Australian employment and workplace laws
• Avoids suppliers suspected of exploitative labour practices
• Promotes ethical and transparent business relationships
• Encourages reporting of suspected unethical labour practices
• Reviews supplier relationships where concerns arise
• Supports lawful and fair treatment of all workers engaged in operations

Suppliers and partners are expected to comply with ethical employment standards and modern slavery legislation. Where unethical practices are identified, Mine Direct will investigate concerns and report matters to appropriate authorities where necessary.

Our objective is to ensure freight services are delivered through ethical and responsible business practices aligned with client expectations.

Commitment to Continuous Improvement

Safety and compliance are ongoing priorities at Mine Direct. Through ongoing training, audits, fleet investment, and proactive risk management, we continuously strengthen our systems to deliver safe and reliable freight solutions.

Mine Direct remains committed to continuous improvement to ensure every delivery meets the safety, compliance, and operational expectations of our clients.
